Answers to Frequently Asked Questions

Q:  Does it hurt to get an airbrush tattoo?

A:  No, it is painless; the tattoo is sprayed on your skin, about the most you’ll feel is a slight tickle from the cold air as the paint is applied.

Q:  How long does the tattoo last and how do I take care of it?

A:  The airbrush tattoo dries instantly on your skin and is water resistant.  They can last anywhere from 5–7 days, but can also be immediately removed with isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol.  The length of time varies for each individual and depends on factors such as where on the body the tattoo is, your skin type (i.e. oily or dry – will last longer on dryer skin), and most importantly how it’s cared for.  To maximize the duration your tattoo will last, we recommend the following care instructions:

Pat Dry (do not rub):  After bathing or swimming

Apply a light dusting of Baby Powder:  After bathing and throughout the day

Avoid:  Direct contact with oils, lotions and soap

Remove:  Apply rubbing alcohol, baby oil, or with soap and washcloth in the shower.

Q:  What kind of paint do you use and is it safe for my skin?

A:  We only use USA manufactured, FDA approved, skin-safe alcohol-based body paints that are designed specifically for application to the skin and therefore hypoallergenic.

Q:  Is this the same as a henna tattoo?

A:  No, henna is a stain that goes in to your skin and is not instant drying so if it’s smeared during the drying process, the design will remain that way for as long as the stain lasts.  Further we do not recommend use of henna products for several reasons, among them are henna products have been banned by the FDA for use on the skin, and many individuals experience adverse allergic reactions which can range from mild to severe.

Q:  Do you have a minimum book time for events?

A:  Yes, we require a minimum book time of at least 2 hours.

Q:  How many tattoos can you do per hour?

A:  One of our talented artists can generally do about 30 tattoos or more per hour depending on the size and complexity of each image.  It is recommended for larger parties that an additional artist be present to ensure your guests are taken care of in a timely manner.
